1. Who is eligible to
participate?
Any company, institution, initiative
within the parameters of the
award categories is
eligible to participate, provided that the
relevant activity/initiative contributes
directly to the greening of Qatar. For more
information read the complete list of
eligibility requirements.
2. How do I apply?
All applicants must complete
Nomination
Forms online and submit before the closing date.
Nominations received by mail or hand will not
be entertained.
3. What is the closing date for submitting a
nomination?
Nominations for the Qatar Today
Green Awards close on
25th May 2008. All
nomination received before 18.00 hrs on
25th May
will be considered.
4. What are the benefits of
winning a Green Award?
There are many benefits of winning a
Green Award – for the winner and others. In
addition to public recognition and publicity so
others can learn from and be inspired by the
initiative, winners in each category will;
• Receive an award at the Qatar Today Green
Awards ceremony
• Be profiled on the QT Green Awards website
• Be profiled on all publications of Oryx Media
Services WLL – Qatar Today, Qatar Al Youm, Woman
Today and Glam magazines.
5. Can I compete in
more than one category?
Yes, only so far as each
project/initiative adheres to the award/category
requirements and does not duplicate any aspect
of the other entry.
6. What are the
criteria on which a nomination is judged?
All nominations are judged according to a
pre-determined criteria. For more on the

7. What makes a good
nomination?
A good nomination will tell us your
story in 500 words or less, providing sufficient
information. And ensure that all the required
fields in the nomination form are completed.
8. What is the
selection process?
The winner of the QT Green Award
under each category will be chosen through a
two-tier selection process. A selection panel,
comprising one representative from UNESCO-Doha
and two respected environmental experts will
first short-list candidates. These
candidates will then be requested to provide
further information on their initiatives, based
on which the judges will make their final
decision.
9. Is the nomination form
available in languages other than English?
Currently we are able to process nominations
in English alone.
10. When will I know if my
nomination has been short-listed?
We will notify all short listed
applicants as soon as the selection is
completed; this is expected to be done by end of
April.
Short listed applicants will also be posted on
this web site.
11. If my project is
short listed, what happens next?
You will be asked to furnish
additional
information on your project/initiative before
mid-May 2008. |
